James is a co-founder and director of PepperTree with over 12 years of infrastructure and energy sector financing and advisory experience.

He has a broad financial skill set with extensive expertise in debt financing in the energy and infrastructure sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, having participated in excess of $5bn of debt transactions.

At PepperTree he is responsible for project finance and infrastructure outside of power.

Prior to co-founding PepperTree, he was a transactor at Nedbank focused on the Infrastructure & Telecommunications sectors and subsequently a Vice President at Fieldstone advising on the full spectrum of energy sector transactions.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Statistics from the University of Cape Town and has completed all 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst examinations.
